Cisco Router, Cisco Routers Middle Aged nostalgia

I have been wondering how far back my (failing) memory goes with selling Cisco Routers. I think 14.5 years to the 4000 series, and myself and a colleague from Aus hand delivered it to a multi-national engineering firm off Warren Street where our offices were. I can also recall the beige 2500 series, when if my memory serves me correctly the Cisco logo was in Orange? I am prepared to be wrong on that, in fact it is so long ago there were not Starbucks yet in the UK. I say this because if I am incorrect I will blame insufficient caffeine levels 🙂

The routers Cisco have produced before and since have stood the test of time. As someone who still sees 2500 & 4000 series still arriving in our warehouse from time to time, I know they LAST…. When you consider these units still trade in the used Cisco market, the total cost of ownership for Cisco Routers is unbeatable..

All this talk of coffee and nostalgia has given me an idea. I will send out a £10 Starbucks Vouchers to the best five pictures of old skool used Cisco Routers. Entries to be received by June 10th, 2011.

Please send pics ( in good taste, hehe ) to sales@icpnetworks.co.uk with “old skool cisco router” in subject line.

Off to the latte factory.

Until next time,
Matt
